Xochitl Ruth Bader Bernstein Buenaventura is an STI contact tracer - aka Sex Detective - and her life's work is ensuring that every citizen of Los Angeles County can have all the safe, shame-free sex their hearts desire. Their investigation leads them to an underground adultery ring, and to the complete misuse of a public health tip line to send flirtatious messages. As secrets come to light, their growing attraction threatens to jeopardize the case and ruin Xochitl's hard-won career.
